Honourable Regional Minister,

Municipal Coordinating Director,

Ladies and Gentlemen.

 

Good morning to you all and welcome to the Ledzokuku Krowor Municipal Assembly.

Hon. Minister, the entire Management and staff of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) are very much aware of government’s intention of calving the Krowor Municipal Assembly out of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly. In view of this, Management and staff have been putting measures in place to make sure that this separation process takes place without any administrative challenges.

 

Some of the preparations we have made so far are as follows:

OFFICE AND RESIDENTIAL ACCOMODATION

 

  1. LEKMA has identified an office accommodation located at the Royal Ravico Hotel and Nungua Cold Store-Asanko junction near the Royal Park for the new administration.

 

  1. Two residential accommodations for the Chief Executive and Coordinating Director at Addogonor.

 

HON. ASSEMBLY MEMBERS

With the exception of one deceased Hon. Assembly Member, the rest of the 15 Hon. Assembly Members are available and ready to join the new Assembly.

 

STAFF RATIONALISATION

Hon. Minister, Management has already submitted a list of GoG staff to be transferred to the Krowor Municipal Assembly to the Head of the Local Government Service for consideration.

 

REVENUE GENERATION

Management ensured that this year’s rateable bills were ready enough for distribution. Property Rates and Business Operating Permit bills are about 90% distributed which will help facilitate the revenue generation when the new Municipality stands on its own.

 

VEHICLES AND OTHER LOGISTICS

The Fixed Assets Register is readily available. Total number of vehicles available at the Assembly are …………….. and …….. are currently at the workshop.

 

INFORMATION TO MLGRD

We have as well furnished the Ministry of Local Government and Rural Development with all necessary and important information that would help in the creation of the new Municipality.

 

CONCLUSION
