By John Vigah
Chieftains of the Ledzokuku-Krowor Municipal Assembly (LEKMA) last Friday donated an amount of GH¢2,500 to Danbort FC-a fearsome second division side in municipality.
The gesture was aimed to serve as a morale-booster to the Nungua-based contingent ahead of their high-status MTN-FA Cup clash against the defending champion Kumasi Asante Kotoko at the Baba Yara Sport Stadium in Kumasi this Sunday.
Municipal chief executive of Lekma, Mr. Daniel Armah, told the Times Sports yesterday that
the assembly has closely monitored the exploit of Danbort and believed the team can upset the apple-cart on Sunday.
Danbort has really lifted the flag of the municipality very high, we strongly reckon that the donation propel them to achieve a stunning feat over their more accomplished opponents on Sunday.
“Yes, we know playing Kotoko is a mammoth task, but I have great confidence in Danbort and this windows mite of ours should gear them on to produce the expected result, Mr. Armah asserted.
Receiving the money, a management member of Danbort who doules as the Development Chief of Nungua, Nii Odai Kwei III, expressed his profound appreciation to LEKMA, promising to put the donation to good quality use.
“let me assure you that we may appear small, but like the proverbial axe we are capable of cutting down the big tree,” he said, amid a long-drawn-out applause.
Also present at the short-but-impressive ceremony were the Municipal Coordinating Director (Director of Administration) – Mr. Gabriel D.H Dari, Municipal Finance Officer- Mr. Augustine N. Angleoha, the clan head of Odaiteitse-We, Mr. Out Quaye and Mr. Raymond Dey, team manager of Danbort
