A four day capacity training workshop has been held for Internal Auditors in the Ledzokuku Municipal Assembly. The workshop was to help the Auditors understand their audit concepts and audit process well to enable them excel in their field of work.
The Municipal Internal Auditor Mrs. Candid K. Pwavra in her opening address said it was realized there is a gap that needs to be filled in the areas of Professional Practices Framework, Risk Based Internal Auditing, Auditing Documentation, Procedure for Conducting Audit Assignment and IGF Audit. She said if enough funds was released the training would have been held outside the office premises to enable the staff concentrate without any disruptions.
Mrs. Pwavra promised that next when the need arise for another training and there is enough funds the workshop will be organized outside the office premises so that the staff will have full concentration and go through the training without any distraction or disturbances.
The Resource Person Mr. Jacob Manyina said the training was very interactive and the participants were very responsive. He said the participants were taken through various Audit concept processes, specific Auditable areas, IDEA software and Data interrogatory tool. Mr. Manyina recounted the only challenge during for the four day training as time, he said the number of days for the training was not enough and next time when a similar training is held there should enough time so that all areas can be covered to help uplift the image of Audit in the Municipality. The participants also expressed their gratitude to their boss for organizing such training for them and indicated that it has been an educative and insightful training.
